Unified Code of Conduct, Harassment and Discrimination Policy
Update date: August 23, 2025
Yekpare aims to create safe, inclusive, and respectful spaces in all community and work environments, online or in person. Violence, harassment, discrimination, or retaliation will not be tolerated in any form.
We know we can't create completely risk-free environments, but we consider it our responsibility to recognize, highlight, and take necessary steps against any forms of harassment and discrimination that may occur.
Under this policy, all forms of verbal, physical, visual, digital, or sexual harassment; as well as discrimination based on language, race, religion or belief (e.g., antisemitism, Islamophobia), ethnicity, gender identity, sexual orientation (e.g., homophobia, transphobia), age, disability, marital status, or socioeconomic status are strictly unacceptable.
This policy applies to Yekpare's employees, freelance consultants, event participants, community members, digital platform community members, business partners, and suppliers. In case of violation, sanctions such as warning, temporary suspension, permanent expulsion from the community or event, or termination of collaboration may be applied.
Reporting Harassment and Discrimination:
Sometimes it can be difficult to determine whether what is happening is harassment or discrimination. Even if you are unsure, you can contact us. Speaking to us about a situation does not obligate you to initiate any process; no action will be taken unless you request it.
When can you apply?
When you want to talk about an experience you've had,
When you experience a situation that you're unsure about but that makes you uncomfortable,
When you don't know what to do.
Who can you contact?
To the facilitators or hosts who acted on behalf of Yekpare at the events, or,
You can send your written notifications to birlik@yekpare.org.
All notifications are handled with confidentiality and care. No one will be subjected to adverse treatment for making a notification or participating in the process.
Process and Results
Notifications are carefully reviewed. Those exposed are kept informed throughout the process. Temporary measures are taken as needed. Sanctions progress in stages: warning, temporary suspension, expulsion from the community, termination of cooperation.
Support and Protection
If the exposed individual requests psychological and/or legal support, they will be referred in cooperation with our civil society stakeholders.
